Inspired by the iconic French Varappe-style climbing shoe — the rugged footwear that found its way onto the feet of every dirtbag climber in Yosemite Valley and laid the groundwork for modern climbing shoes — the El Cap Boots pay tribute to that legacy while reimagining it for everyday life. We started by developing a custom last with modern footing to make them comfortable for everyday wear. The upper is crafted from premium leather with a soft leather lining and insole for all-day comfort and a break-in that only gets better over time. To boost durability where it counts, we reinforced the toe, heel, and mudguard with rubberized leather, echoing the rugged protection of classic outdoor footwear. Each pair comes with extra laces and a dust bag. • Crazy Horse leather uppers. An oil and wax rich leather that scratches, scuffs, and develops a beautiful patina with wear.
