The role
We're hiring a Product Design Intern for summer 2027 to design how Konji looks, feels and works, from the first screen a shopper sees to the moment their order arrives.
You'll design across the iPhone and Android apps, the web shop at konji.co and the platform brands use to list their products. It's hands-on, end-to-end design at an early-stage consumer app: what you design ships within days. It's 10 to 12 weeks, full time and remote.
What you'll do
Design the shopping experience
- Design end to end, from the first sketch to the shipped screen: discovery, search, product pages, the bag and checkout.
- Design onboarding and the first order, where new shoppers decide to stay.
- Make earning and spending credit feel simple and trustworthy.
Work in the design system
- Design with the system shared by iOS, Android and the web: type, color, spacing and components, and help it grow.
- Keep every screen consistent, accessible and fast, in light and dark mode.
Shape the brand
- Design the moments outside the app: konji.co, the App Store listing, emails and launches.
- Work with marketing on the look of our social content and ads.
Learn from shoppers
- Talk to shoppers, watch how they use Konji and read the numbers, then turn what you learn into the next design.
- Prototype fast and test ideas before they're built.
What we're looking for
- You're studying design, HCI or a related field, or you've taught yourself and have the work to show it.
- A portfolio that shows strong UX and visual design, and how you got from the problem to the solution.
- Fluency in Figma and prototyping.
- You know the platforms: Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design and what makes an app feel native.
- Clear communication: you explain your decisions, take feedback well and work closely with engineers.
Bonus points
- Shopping, marketplace or fintech apps you've designed for.
- Motion design, or prototyping in code.
- Brand and marketing design.
- You write the words on the screen as carefully as you design it.
What success looks like
- Designs that ship, built as designed.
- Screens built from the design system.
- A project you can walk through end to end, from what shoppers did before to what they do now.
About you
You notice when a button is two pixels off and when a flow has one step too many. You'd rather ship and learn than polish in a file, and you love a good shopping app.
